  1. 0. Very little on Kinesins
    1. Great visualization of kinesin and mircotubules.
    2. Where is the energy from the hydrolysis of ATP transferred to? What AA?
    3. None at this point
    4. Still developing my thoughts and overall application of kinesins

  3. 0. Kinesin is a "motor protein"
    1. How it actually works! Awesome visualization!

    0. Knew: Basic motion of kinesin (had seen a less detailed visual before).
    1. Learned: The motor heads move randomly by Brownian motion before finding the microtubule.
    2. Question: How does the nucleotide exchange of ATP trigger the neck linker to zipper? Is it due to a conformational change?

  5. 0 Knew: Basic mechanism of kinesin movement.
1 Learned: great visualization! I see now how the ATP functions.

    0. Knew: None of this.
    1. Learned: Walking at the nanoscale!
    2. Pressing: How do they figure this stuff out? How do they "see" that this is happening?
    3. Topic: Tools for the observation of complex molecular motion.
    4. Thoughts: The sound effects are a nice touch.

Remember that all macro-motion of organisms is a summation of micro-motions.

  7. 0. Basics of kinesin movement (hand over hand theory)
    1. Learned the cycle of kinesin walking
    2. How does kinesin sense when to release? What is the mechanism of "talk" between the two heads?
    3. How kinesins move along microtubules.
    4. Great visualization of how kinesins walk.

  8. 0. Knew: Idea behind Kinesin movement.
    1. Learned: ADP bound heads move freely and randomly according to Brownian motion while not bound to microtubule.
    2. ?: How do organelles attach to the kinesin?
    3. Brownian Motion
    4. We know a good deal about kinesin structure and function. It would be nice to know so much about all proteins.

  9. 0. Knew: General idea of what a kinesin does
    1. Learned: How energy from ATP is used to move kinesin along a microtubule. The graphic does a superior job of describing kinesin movement.
